In chapter one, we dealt with Linear Funk patterns in 4/4 time. In this chapter we will study linear patterns in odd time. Either in 3, 5, or 7 measures.
In chapter one, we constructed linear patterns in sixteenth notes by combining the different groupings ot total sixteen notes, thus forming linear funk grooves in 4/4 time. In this chapter we will first deal with linear patterns in 3 then 5 and finally 7.
If we combined linear groupings in 4/4 time to total sixteen notes, we will need to combine linear groupings together to total twelve notes to construct grooves in 3.
Example:
Groupings must total 20 notes for patterns in 5. Example:

Finally, groupings must total 14 notes for patterns in 7. Example:

The following pages display all or most of the patterns that can be formed from the six groupings found in chapter 1, in either 3, 5, or 7.
