Symbols And Science

Poetry
by John Delonas

O! church steeple,
Bend down your silver mitre a little,
And answer me why
Your cross and lightning rod
Go so gingerly hand in hand,
A celibate's path through the clouds;
While old Nature reaps
With wild harvester's abandon
The thunder strewn in the sky.
